Reading the Meter

Service Contract machines are usually billed on a cost per copy (CPC) basis either monthly or quarterly. Prior to your bill being issued, you will receive a meter read request via email or fax. Meter reads will be estimated for billing if not received in the allotted time.

What is Waste Toner?

Waste toner is any toner that does not fuse to the paper when creating a copy or a print. Copiers have waste toners that can be replaced by the customer, some may need to be emptied or replaced by a service technician.

Error Codes and What To Do With Them

If your machine stops and gives an error code. Please write down the error code before doing a full restart. Call it in, even if the machine seems to be running fine. It may have a part that is failing or have some other issue that needs to be resolved by a service technician.

The Evil Toner Pirates

Ideal OS will never randomly solicit toner sales. Unfortunately this is a fully-fledged scam industry. Please contact us if you ever have a question or concern, or want to check the validity of someone contacting you about toner or supplies.

Document Feeder

The top of the copier where you place papers in to scan, or lift up to scan items directly off the glass is called the Document Feeder. It is on a hinge system and somewhat heavy. Closing it in between uses will help to ensure the hinge lasts the life of the copier.

Store Toner Correctly

Storing toner on its side prevents it from clumping. Make sure you give it a good shake before installing in your copier to make sure the toner hasn't settled in the cartridge.
